Can I enroll on a trip now, before I have arrived at my host family?
Sorry, but no. It is better to get settled with your host family, community and school first. Once you have talked about it with your host parents and made sure they will be able to take you to and pick you up from the airport, get permission from your school and ASSE Area Representative and send in your Enrollment Form.
I will be living in Canada, and want to go on the trip to California. Do I need a visa?
Although many students do not require a visa to visit the USA while on exchange in Canada, and vice versa, others do. It depends upon your citizenship, and such rules may change. It is a good idea to check the rules in advance. If you will need a visa—for the U.S. or Canada—in order to join the trip(s) you are interested in, it is best to get it before you leave your home country.
First I pay the $95 non-refundable deposit to reserve my spot, but when is the final balance due?
Once your application is received, your $95 payment will be processed and you will receive a welcome email long with instructions on how to log on to your tour account. Your final balance is due 75 days prior to departure. Simply supply your payment information an we will process your final payment for you.
I lost my Application Form. How can I get another?
Simply log on to: asse.explorica.com and you can either apply online or print out the paper application.
My parents want to pay for my trip with their credit card. Is that possible?
Yes. Although checks—US dollars only please—are also accepted, it is actually easier to pay by credit card: Visa, MasterCard, and American Express cards. We cannot process debit or ATM cards.
My mom wants to know if there will be adults traveling with the group.
All trips are chaperoned by staff and volunteers who are familiar with the destinations and who have easy access to Explorica’s extensive support network.
What happens if I cancel my trip?
My friends and I are traveling together. Can we room together?
Yes. Just submit the name of the person you would like to room with when you sign up. If you don’t know who you want to room with, don’t worry. Once you find a roommate just send your group leader a message through your Tour Center letting them know who you would like to room with and they will take care of it from there.
Do I have to book my own flights?
No. Flights are included in the total tour fee. Make sure that you check with your host family regarding your closest airport when booking.
I missed the November 30th deadline. Can I still sign-up for a tour?
Yes. Please sign-up immediately and you will be contacted by an Explorica representative regarding tour availability.
